USCIS will send your form to Phoenix lockbox in the first 30 days after the notice is published. But if you send it to a wrong location and 30 day transition period is over, here is what will happen:

  1. If you send it to a lockbox in California, the USPS will post to phoenix lockbox; it will take almost 90 days.
  2. If you use another courier service to send the form to old California address, the courier will return it back to you, because they don’t deliver it in incorrect address.
  3. If you send it to the USCIS center, they will send it back mentioning the correct address that you need to use.

Can File Form I-90 Online with Biometric Services

You can file online if your green card is expired or will expire in 6 months. You green card was stolen, lost, or damaged. Your personal information has changed. The card is old and invalid.

Here are few basic steps to apply online:

  1. Go the link in the browser to sign in: https://myaccount.uscis.gov/sign-in
  2. Enter you email and password if you have an account
  3. If not, then click on create account
  4. You need to fill the I-90 form
  5. You must add all your supporting documents
  6. Recheck your answers and then sign digitally
  7. Make the payment, if there is any.
  8. Now you can submit the online form

  1. If a question is irrelevant to you, just type N/A in the box.
  2. If you have an answer 0 to a question, you can type NONE
  3. After you complete your form, you should write answers in black ink.

How To Check Your I-90 Application Status

You will receive a letter from USCIS which will have a 13-character “receipt number” (3 letters and 10 numbers). Use this receipt number to check the status of your I-90 application.

  1. To check the status of your application, you’ll need to use the USCIS “https://egov.uscis.gov/” tool.
  2. Enter your receipt number in the box given,
  3. Click on “Check Status.” Enter the correct number,  
  4. You will be able to view when USCIS received your application and its current status.

After April 2024 new prices were announced which are mentioned as $ 415 for online application, while $465 for application in paper. You will also have to biometric services fee of $ 85 so USCIS can get your digital finger prints.

You can also be exempted from paying, if you never received your card, DHS made mistakes on your card, or you have a fee waiver. If you prove that you cannot afford, your fee will be waive off.

What Happens After Filing I-90 Form?
